Break-Time Programs

Winter, Spring & Summer Breaks

Each weekday of winter, spring, and summer holidays, KidSafe operates in schools to provide our essential programs to hundreds of referred children.

Our programs include the following services essential to a child’s physical and mental health:

  • Breakfast, hot lunch, and unlimited snacks

  • Caring adult staff supervisors who provide emotional and behavioural supports

  • Educational activities and field trips in five pillars: Arts & Culture, Health & Wellness, Science & Nature, Literacy, and Leadership.

Shape of the Day

The Shape of Day sets a plan for the day during the Break Time Program. It ensures consistent programming across all sites by providing the KidSafe program framework that includes the following:

  • Morning announcements

  • Multiple enriching activities

  • Fun-filled events throughout the break time

One of the many important influences on a growing child's development is structure and stability. The kids arrive with excited anticipation to know what the Shape of the Day is going to be.

Sample Shape of the Day
