Meet Mason, the 6-Year-Old KidSafe Ambassador

Last year, on his fifth birthday, Mason started fundraising for KidSafe.

For his last two birthdays, rather than asking for toys or games, 6-year-old Mason has been asking his friends and family for donations to KidSafe.

Since then, Mason has raised nearly $1,000 for KidSafe’s critical programs, which support over 800 children annually.

Mason’s mother, Carla, says that after learning about KidSafe’s programs, Mason instantly wanted to get involved so that he could help support other kids in Vancouver.

We asked Carla how it makes her feel, knowing the impact that Mason has had at such a young age. She said, “It makes me feel really proud. I’ve always wanted him to understand that he has privileges that others don’t, that not everyone has access to the same opportunities he does. Our family places a high value on giving back, so it's wonderful to see Mason becoming involved.”

When asked how supporting other kids makes him feel, Mason said, “It makes me feel happy.”
