Victoria Sunwoo

Manager of Program Operations

Victoria previously worked for the City of Surrey in the Recreation sector for several years as a lifeguard and swim instructor, where she developed her passion for the health and wellbeing of children. Having graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Health, she wanted to get involved with a non-profit organization that works hard every day to enhance the lives of children. This ultimately led her to KidSafe.

Victoria joined KidSafe in 2020 as a Site Coordinator for Lord Strathcona Elementary. Working with the kids and directly seeing the impact that KidSafe has in their lives made her want to continue working here, so she joined the office team as the Food Security Program Coordinator.

Today, Victoria holds the title of Manager of Program Operations, a role that places her at the heart of KidSafe’s mission. In this position, she oversees some of the most critical aspects of our on-site programs. Victoria is now helping to ensure that KidSafe maintains a team of dedicated individuals who share her and the organization’s values. Victoria also manages our food security efforts for KidSafe, overseeing the hiring and training of our food preparation staff, and the design and execution of our food workshops.

Looking to the future, Victoria envisions KidSafe continuing to be a safe haven for children, a place where they can simply be kids without the burden of worry. She is dedicated to ensuring KidSafe participants have access to all the resources they need, just like any other child. Her unwavering commitment to KidSafe’s mission and her vision for a brighter future for the participants in their care make Victoria a treasured team member of KidSafe. She is truly a driving force behind KidSafe’s success and a champion for children’s well-being in Vancouver.
